Unique Starting People/Heritage Based Troops
Dothraki
The player can recruit the following special, elite troops if Dothraki is chosen as the starting people:
-Dothraki Screamers can be recruited from Dothraki horse master located in Ashefa Athaozar if starting people is Dothraki AND if renown is high enough (at least 1 000 renown). It costs 10,000 stags and 14 days to get 5 Dothraki Screamers.
-Dothraki Screamers are one of the most elite horse archery units in the game. Excellent at horse archery before charging in with Arakhs.
Valyrian
The player can recruit Dragon Guard from Illyrio Mopatis if both Valyrian is chosen at the beginning of the game as the player's background and the player has a high enough renown (at least 900 renown). It costs 10,000 stags and 14 days to get 5 Dragon Guards.
The Dragon Guard are one of the most elite heavy cavalry units in the game.

The Free Folk
The player can recruit the following special, elite troops if Free Folk is chosen as the starting people:
-Thenn Chieftain Elite guard can be recruited from NPC named Fritigern located in Thenn if starting people is Free Folk AND if renown is high enough.
-Giants can be recruited from NPC named Mortik located in Frostfang's Camp if starting people is Free Folk AND if renown is high enough. Giants can be upgraded to either Giant Archer or Giant Skull Crusher. Giant Skull Crusher can be upgraded to Giant Champion.
-Wildling Chieftain Guard can be recruited from NPC named Alaric Wolfsbane located in Fist of the First Men if starting people is Free Folk AND if renown is high enough.
The Riverlands
The player can recruit the following special, elite troops if Riverland's is chosen as the starting people:
-Riverland Ranger Guard can be recruited from the NPC named Andrew Horgan located in Riverrun if starting people is Riverland's AND if renown is high enough (at least 1 000 renown). It costs 10,000 stags and 14 days to get 5 Riverland Ranger Guards.
-Riverland Ranger Guards are an elite ranged unit in the game. Can deliver devastating volleys with their longbows.
The Vale
The player can recruit the following special, elite troops if Vale is chosen as the starting people:
-Vale Knight of the Gate can be recruited from NPC named Justin Jonsson located in the Eyrie if starting people is the Vale AND if renown is high enough (at least 1 000 renown). It costs 10,000 stags and 14 days to get 5 Knight of the Gate troops.
-Vale Knight of the Gate is one of the most elite heavy cavalry units in the game. Serve as utterly devastating heavy shock cavalry.
