Unique Troops of the Known World

Some soldiers can’t be found in any village or tavern. These elite warriors require you to own specific towns, belong to certain cultures, or prove your renown. This guide breaks down every special unit, where to find them, what they cost, and how they fight.

Unique Location‑Based Troops

Recruited from specific towns or NPCs if you directly govern the fief (except Unsullied). Some are ready‑to‑fight elites; others start weak but can be upgraded through a troop tree.

Essos

Unsullied

  • Location: Qohor tavern, speak to the Good Master (no need to own Qohor).
  • Cost: 50 Unsullied for 75,000 stags. Weekly wage: 0 stags.
  • Unit type: Elite spearmen, skirmishers.
  • Strengths: Superb weapon skills, excellent in shieldwall. No wage makes them a great investment.
  • Weakness: Light armor.

Holy Champion

  • Location: Temple of the Bearded Priests (north of Norvos), speak to Varyros Marirah in Temple of Bearded Priests
  • Cost: 5,000 stags for 2 Holy Champions.

  • Strengths: Devastating against cavalry. Excellent shock troops.

Volantine Elephant Rider

  • Location: Volantis, speak to Jaeredor Vaelaros.

Frey Household Troops

Unique Location‑Based Troops

Only available if your character’s starting people/ethnicity matches the troop’s origin. These are among the strongest units in the mod. You usually need high renown (750–1,000) and a significant fee. Once chosen, your heritage cannot be changed.

Essos

Black Goat Champion (Heritage: Qohor)

  • Location: Qohor. Speak to Carolus Salinas. Requires 750‑1,000 renown.
  • Cost: 10,000 stags, 14 days for 5 Black Goat Champions.
  • Unit type: Elite infantry.
  • Strengths: Devastating throwing spears. Military hammers knock enemies unconscious (great for prisoners).
  • Weakness: Medium shield hitpoints, medium body armor.

Dothraki Screamer (Heritage: Dothraki)
