Tyrosh
The Aggressor of the Free Cities. Tyrosh is a wealthy, warlike island power ruled by Archon Algero Tumitus. With slave armies, exquisite weapons, and a culture that honors military service, Tyrosh stands ready to dominate its rivals in the Disputed Lands.
Tyrosh is one of the Free Cities found within Essos and is ruled by Archon Algero Tumitus.
Their sigil is two grey rapiers on a light blue background.
Their map colour is light purple.
History
While neither the richest nor most powerful of the Free Cities, Tyrosh is by far the most aggressive. While most of the Free Cities prefer to use mercenaries in their wars, Tyroshi consider military service an honourable profession, though lesser than a career as a trader. Additionally, Tyroshi are aggressive slavers and even send expeditions beyond the Wall in order to enslave the Free Folk.
Tyrosh is a wealthy city that produces some of the most exquisite armour and weapons in the known world. Traders may be able to purchase some of these weapons in bulk in order to sell them in distant ports for major profit. Dye is also another important trade good produced in Tyrosh, though it does not offer the same lucrative profit potential as Tyroshi-made armour.
Religion
There are various religions in the Free City of Tyrosh. Some traders from the West may pray to the Seven, the red priests in their temple worship R’hllor.
Location
Tyrosh is situated on an island, neighbouring Myr to the west, Pentos to the north, and Lys to the south-east. Tyrosh is a strong power and has the potential to become the likely winner in a protracted war with Lys and Myr, solely because they are not as heavily dependent on mercenaries to do their fighting. Though they do not depend on mercenaries, they will not hesitate to hire them in order to achieve victory against their adversaries.

Troop Tree
Tyroshi armies are composed of slave warriors, similar to Myr. These units are particularly weak in morale and equipment. The basic footman cannot afford more than a cheap gambeson; it might even be a luxury to get a sharpened sword for these reluctant warriors. Tyrosh also fields no cavalry and has only one archer unit, which often puts its army at a disadvantage.
Strengths
- Cavalry line uses Dog Cudgels, currently the best melee weapon in the game.
Weaknesses
- Low horse armour.
- Infantry don’t have shields.
