King Renly Baratheon is the youngest of the three brothers of House Baratheon and Lord of Storm's End. Following the defeat House Targaryen and subsequent crowing of his eldest brother Robert Baratehon, Renly was granted the title of Lord Paramount of the Stormlands. Following the death of Robert and allegations regarding the legitimacy of his heir, Renly is crowned King with the support of the powerful House Tyrell of Highgarden. He is described as tall, and having black hair that falls to his shoulders. He apparently looks eerily similar to his oldest brother, Robert, when he was young, although shorter and less muscular.

Quotes:

"No one wants you for their king. You never wanted any friends, brother, but a man without friends is a man without power!"

―Renly to Stannis Baratheon

"Where is it written that power is the sole province of the worst? That thrones are only made for the hated and the feared? You would be a wonderful king."

―Loras Tyrell, telling Renly that he should be king.

"I don't blame him. And I don't blame you, either. We don't get to choose who we love."

―Jaime on why he doesn’t judge Renly for loving Loras or Brienne for loving Renly.

Dialogue between Renyl Baratheon, Stannis Baratheon, and Catelyn Stark,

Renly Baratheon, "All this of snakes and incest is droll, but it changes nothing. You may well have the better claim, Stannis, but I have the larger army.”

Renly's hand slid inside his cloak. Stannis saw, and reached at once for the hilt of his sword, but before he could draw steel his brother produced . . . a peach.

Renyl Baratehon, "Would you like one, brother? From Highgarden. You've never tasted anything so sweet, I promise you"

Stannis Baratheon, "I did not come here to eat fruit.”

Catelyn Stark, "My lords! We ought to be hammering out the terms of an alliance, not trading taunts.”

Renyl Baratheon, "A man should never refuse to taste a peach. He may never get the chance again. Life is short, Stannis. Remember what the Starks say. Winter is coming.”
