Suggestions & Discussion / Weights and Measures
« on: August 10, 2018, 08:02:13 PM »
There is a weight to every armor and now there is a classification of medium and heavy that confers with it a penalty to certain stats.

I like the idea of this but has anyone else found the implementation to be a bit awkward?

For instance Bronn's armor has the same body armor as a leather jerkin but Bronn's armor is "medium armor" and the jerkin has no penalty.

There are other even stranger classifications. For instance a rawhide coat has a body armor of about 20 but is listed as medium armor.

There are some armors that are light weight (15 pounds) but are listed as heavy armors (Sea Raider Byrnie). The Jerkin only weighs 11 and has no penalty.

There doesn't seem to be any logic or consistency to the way an armor is classified as heavy or medium, it's actual weight, and the actual body and leg armor it provides.

At this point I'm ready to disable the feature altogether because most of the time it doesn't make any sense.

Is this going to be fixed to make sense in the future?

Help and Support / Vet Ironborn Reaver and other "special units"
« on: August 07, 2018, 01:20:48 PM »
This unit is supposed to give some bonuses but I've never actually seen the unit in the game. Is this unit in the game under a different name?

Also, do the Soldier's Wives actually give a bonus to morale? It takes 30 of them but I've never seen it happen.

The mule and the pack camel do not increase inventory management. I have the same number of spaces in inventory with them as without. I do see in my character page that the skill "inventory management" is green which means I have 1 point added to it, but I don't actually have more space in inventory.

And while I'm at it does anyone know how to get the skirmish order to work? The manual says f6 but that doesn't do anything.

Bugs / Bow won't focus during castle assault
« on: August 07, 2018, 04:29:10 AM »
I'm a mercenary for Westerlands. On two different castle assaults I tried to use my bow but it won't focus. The crosshair never closes and it's as if I have no skill in the weapon but my WP is over 300.

Is this a bug or something else going on?

Suggestions & Discussion / Is there a diplomatic solution?
« on: August 04, 2018, 04:52:09 AM »
It seems that at some point during all the wars in the Seven Kingdoms that eventually someone is declared the winner and everyone who is fighting that person gives up and goes home.

And once that person is king he stays king for a long time until some intrigue or disaster stirs everyone up again.

Is there a diplomatic solution? Do I need to capture a certain amount of territories or send all the leaders to the wall? (thinking of that I'm going to send Dany to the wall--talk about a sausage fest!).

Or do I need to hold KL for a certain amount of time?

It just seems tedious to conquer every single castle and town and when I'm done those faction will never exist again. The Reach won't be the Tyrells and the Stormlands won't be Baratheon and the North certainly won't be Stark. It just seems like the whole essence of the Seven Kingdoms will be destroyed if I win the Warband way rather than some other more subtle way.

Maybe we could make a faction submit and agree to a permanent client state arrangement where they can keep their lands and autonomy so long as they recognize me as king and follow me into war when I call them as if they were my own bannermen?   And paying me some taxes would be nice too.

Suggestions & Discussion / Marrying Dany and other possible outcomes.
« on: August 04, 2018, 12:44:35 AM »
I've been trying to get Dany to marry me no such option comes up. From what I've read it was supposed to be possible but it isn't yet.

Has anyone found a way yet? Maybe you have to join an army that defeats her and captures her and then you rebel and she becomes a broken man. I've heard of someone doing this to get Gregore Clegane as a companion and I suppose it could be possible with Dany but it might also break the game. Who would be head of her faction?

Another outcome that I've considered is to capture Dany and sell her to the Good Master. It's clear they aren't on the best terms since she cooked the last one and stole all his Unsullied so this new one might be willing to make a deal to get his revenge. Maybe the reward of 1,000 Unsullied paid over the course of 10 weeks. You bring her to him, the Targaryens get a new faction leader, and you can collect your Unsullied whenever you want so long as it's not faster than 100 a week.

In fact, I thought of a whole quest line with the Good Master where you can perform quests like destroying the various mercenary and named pirate groups in Essos for cash and prizes or access to his inventory so you can by shackles to increase your prisoner capacity at any party size.

After befriending the Good Master and completing many quests he tells you of his hatred of Dany and how he burns for revenge (pun intended) and will give you a fine reward if you hunt her down and bring her back to Essos where he can have his revenge. Maybe instead of getting 1000 Unsullied he agrees to take up shop in your castle or town so you don't have to travel so far to get Unsullied?

Anyway, I think there's a lot of potential to expand the Dany storyline and since her end hasn't been written in the books or HBO then I don't see it as lore unfriendly.

Push Entertainment past 10 and you could become the next bardic sensation. Awesome, but in order to do that I have to invest at least 29 more points into Charisma (starting at 4).

And since I start out with a measly 28 attribute points that means for the next 29 levels I have to put everything into charisma. Of course I can use the first 10 levels to give my character enough strength to use a short bow and an arming sword, but that means I have to wait until level 39 to reach the maximum cap of 15 for bard. I haven't checked if any of the other skills have higher caps. Maybe they do, but I haven't checked and I doubt anyone is going to do it "naturally" during the course of a playthrough.

So, how does one play a high charisma bard character? Is all you do is ride around to each town and play a song and collect some money and keep moving? That sounds great if all you want to do is buy and sell stuff and watch the world go by.

And while I'm at it: why does the PC have the lowest stats in the game?

For instance, a Northern Spearman will have 75 attribute points at level 31. That means at level 1 he had 45 attribute points. But I start out with 28 points and by level 31 will have 58 points.

So, in order to compete against this Spearman I can't really be spending a lot on charisma and entertainment.

I'm supposed to be a hero but I feel like I'm Samwell Tarly for real.

(Yes I know I can edit the game but it bothers me to have to do that)

Or how bout Renly Baratheon. He has 110 attribute points at level 46. It will take me a day or two to get to level 46 but when I do I'll only have 73 attribute points.

Bugs / 3.5 bugs
« on: July 15, 2018, 02:52:50 PM »
When I get the Valyrian Sword that is made from the metal I got from JS, the sword is a 1hand 2 hand sword. However, when using it in combat without a shield it swings one handed only.

Also, it's really slow. 89?

I can fix this with Morgh's for now so no emergency here. I prefer (love) the Dog Cudgel anyway.

2. When rescuing prisoners from Moat Cailin, once you've left the prison you spawn way outside the castle in the water. It's a long walk back and by then your hostage is knocked out.

3. Lady Elise Locke is 49. Her Father is 37. Her mother is 35.

4. The Faction Relation page says I have 0 relations with a faction even though I have negative relations with them (when I was not in a faction). If I had positive relations it posted that number.

5. I took KL from Stormland but we aren't at war. I have hostile relations because I can besiege Duskendale but my Kingdom page says we are at peace but there's a cassus belli against me from Stormland.  Not sure what will happen if I besiege Duskendale or maybe I can pay a fine to Renly? I'll test that later.

6. Comanions that are made into lords are still not producing troops from my faction's culture. Brienne and Mad Mouse are both producing Westerland troops from the KL villages but our kingdom culture is Stormland.

7. Even though my culture is Stormland my caravans are Westerland.

8. Am I supposed to get Nights Watch Recruits when I sell prisoners to the NW?

9. Unless you hit them from behind, Wildfire seems underpowered.

Suggestions & Discussion / Maybe Slave Shackles?
« on: July 15, 2018, 11:10:49 AM »
Maybe you could make a special item for your inventory that will boost your prisoner management for each item you carry. 1 set of slave shackles boost PM by 10.

This way when you are a small party trying to maximize loot you can still maximize prisoners making it more lucrative to keep a small party. Later on when you've got lots of men those slave shackles won't be as important and you'll actually find the extra space in your inventory to be more valuable.

Suggestions & Discussion / Do Unsullied Loot?
« on: July 15, 2018, 11:08:12 AM »
The Lore on Unsullied says they don't loot, but do they get a share of loot as members of your party?

I don't think they should and that would make them even more desirable since I'm a greedy loot getting bastid.

Help and Support / Companion lords not using faction troops.
« on: July 14, 2018, 05:37:33 AM »
I've taken the Shadow Tower, East Watch, and Castle Black from the Wildlings.

I gave Shadow Tower to Podrick and he's now fielding Night's Watch Troops. I want him to field Stormland troops since that is the culture I've chosen. When I recruit from any village I get Stormland troops.

Is there a way to get my companion lords to produce the troops that belong to the faction? At the least I was hoping he would produce troops from his own home town which a lot of other mods do. I figured that when he went to gather support those would be the troops he'd most likely produce. Same with all the other companions.

I plan on taking over everything but I can't do that with Night's Watch and Wildling troops.

Suggestions & Discussion / Suggestions
« on: June 16, 2018, 10:31:43 PM »
I'm sure it's been said before but I just have to say it again.

Is there any way you can make it so that we don't have to run around the towns looking for merchants, guild master, ship wright, etc? These towns are soo huge and I have spent hours running around town just so I can start a business. It's a complete time suck and really makes the game tedious.

Also, would it be possible to make that armor you get from Varis have a higher armor rating? It's a nice armor and I'd like to wear it but I can't live without those extra points or protection.

Maybe you could increase the chance of the best plate armor appearing in game? It's day 200 and I still haven't found enough armor to equip my companions.

Thanks for the mod. Everything else is looking great.

Bugs / norvos crash
« on: June 16, 2018, 10:26:05 PM »
I have two crashes trying to get into Norvos. Lost a couple hours of play each time. Told myself to save but I kept fogerting.

Suggestions & Discussion / Some questions
« on: August 25, 2017, 01:25:17 AM »
1. I've seen my companions and other mounted units suddenly gain a lot of speed. It far exceeds what their horse riding skill should allow. How are they doing it and can I do it too?

2. I've never won a drinking game. How do you win?

Suggestions & Discussion / Has anyone used Morghs with AWOIAF?
« on: August 21, 2017, 12:04:53 AM »
I wanted to fix a couple things but when I edit them in Morghs they don't show up in the game.

Is there something I need to do differently with this mod?

Suggestions & Discussion / Looting a town
« on: August 19, 2017, 07:39:03 PM »
The money that the PC gets from looting a town is ridiculously low.

I just looted Dragonstone and I got 15,000 stags for my trouble. That won't even cover the cost of troops lost in the battle. There is no other loot to put in my inventory either. Not jewels or treasure or other valuables.  I think after winning the battle and taking the city and then being willing to give it up I should get a lot more money than that. Maybe 10 times more. Anything to make it worthwhile. In this case, I poisoned the water so that mean the garrison was still in tact but just wounded. So now Stannis just has to wait a few days for his city to be back in order and just as strong.

Asking for tribute is equally dissatisfying. I asked for 4k and they offered 2k. Again, it's not lucrative to even ask such a thing.

Surely there is more money to be taken from a town like Dragonstone.
